Leicester City are certainly not out of the picture for Matias Soule, despite some confidence in the Rome press that he could be going to AS Roma.
Tuesday’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport even reports the Foxes are in pole position to sign the Juventus player.
The 21-year-old has been the subject of interest from multiple clubs this summer and in the run up to it, but many walk away when they find out Juve’s lofty demands for the winger.
Soule’s asking price has been all over the place, and it feels like the Serie A side are continually trying to push things higher. Gazzetta say the ‘value attributed’ to the Argentina is €40m, and that’s why Leicester’s €25m (plus €5m in bonuses) received a ‘no thanks’.
In reality, they’d almost certainly accept lesser and Gazzetta believe €30m plus €5m should do it.
Roma won’t go to €30m, even if bonuses are included. Juventus therefore believe Leicester City is the most serious option. They’d also like to sell Soule abroad, a stance backed up by Corriere dello Sport who say that if all things are equal, Juve will sell to the Foxes.
Gazzetta say that on a personal basis, Soule will go with whatever Juventus decide.
