Leicester City are reportedly holding a meeting with Santos FC for the transfer of Gabigol.

According to Goal Brasil, the club’s president Modesto Roma is in London and will hear the Foxes’ intentions for the signing of the player.

Leicester’s interest in the striker has been reported for a few days in Brazil, but as the first stories only said there was the idea of making an offer, it seems that things are getting a bit more serious now.

The Foxes have the competition of Juventus and Inter Milan, who have already offered €20m and €25m respectively. PSG are also said to be interested.

The good news for Leicester is that Gabigol’s preference is to play in the Premier League or La Liga, according to Globo Esporte. They also say that in case the player is sold, Santos would try to keep him until January, just like Palmeiras did with Gabriel Jesus’ move to Manchester City.

In case they fail to land Gabigol, Goal claims that Leicester are also interested in signing Luan from Grêmio and Islam Slimani from Sporting, as a striker is really a priority for the club right now.

Last month, Sport Witness were informed that Chelsea had made an offer for Gabigol. However, the London club weren’t interested in becoming involved in an auction type situation.

This doesn’t look like a straightforward deal to complete, and as much as Santos will be listening to Leicester’s intentions, and perhaps proposals, the Premier League champions will surely be wary of a messy situation.
