It looks like it’s finally happening… Vicente Iborra is returning to Spain.
Rumours were widespread during the summer transfer window, and at least one club tried to sign the midfielder, with Leicester City holding firm and rejecting loan approaches.
Since then, Iborra has continued to struggle to get minutes under manager Claude Puel, and has subsequently been linked with a string of La Liga sides.
Everything has been waiting on Leicester to give the ok to a move.
On Wednesday afternoon, Super Deporte report the Foxes have granted Iborra permission to travel to Spain… and he’s already arrived in the country.
Villarreal are the club advancing in talks to sign the player, and Super Deporte present the transfer as being ‘imminent’.
Leicester are still being tough and it’s explained the Premier League club won’t ‘give him away for nothing’. The Foxes have been pushing for a permanent deal, or at least the idea of one in the summer, and Villarreal are better placed than others to provide that.
