Leicester City are one of the suitors for Wolfsburg winger Patrick Wimmer, who could even leave before the end of the transfer window.
That’s according to BILD, who say Leicester are among the suitors for the winger but could miss out to a team from Italy.
The newspaper reports that the Italians are ‘particularly hot’ for Wimmer at this moment in time, with AC Milan and Juventus very interested in the Austrian. They’d be happy to get a deal done this month.
Wimmer would also not be against a transfer but Wolfsburg don’t intend to let him depart. That’s because Wimmer is one of their star men and has been involved in five goals in 16 games so far this season.
The winger is currently valued at €12m but Wolfsburg think any fee should at least start with a two. In other words, they want €20m plus for him.
The hope is that they can find a buyer in England as they have the money to spend on such deals. Leicester City also have the player on their ‘shopping list’ according to BILD’s information.
They are even exploring the possibility of a ‘quick transfer’ before the end of the January window on February 3rd. Milan and Juventus would prefer to concentrate on a deal for next summer.
That may give the Foxes an advantage, but they will need to dig deep to convince Wolfsburg into a sale in the next few days.
