Earlier today we reported Leicester City’s Swiss midfielder Gokhan Inler had rejected a move to Lyon and Marseille as he’d made it clear his preference was to play for Besiktas.
AmkSpor and Fotomac are now both claiming Besiktas have an agreement in place for 32-year old Switzerland international. Inler is now waiting in London, and once the paperwork finished, he’ll fly to Turkey to finalise the deal.
Their claims come after reports yesterday in the Italian media that Inler would be heading to Cagliari on loan following an agreement with the Premier League champions.
It’s understood Besiktas will sign Inler on a free transfer, with the player expected to earn €2M a year. Besiktas moved in quickly on the Leicester City man after they failed in their attempts to sign Manchester City’s Samir Nasri. Inter Milan defender Caner Erkin is the other player expected to join Inler at Besiktas.
Inler joined Leicester for €7million last year from Napoli but couldn’t feature consistently in his team’s title challenge. As a result, he lost his place to Blerim Dzemaili in the Swiss iational team and certainly knows he needs to play regularly to win that back.
