Leicester City continue to be named in the race for Boca Juniors midfielder Nahitan Nández.
It’s been reported earlier this week that the Foxes tried to snatch a deal with the player despite his advanced negotiations to join Bologna.
However, Boca Juniors and the Italian side have failed to find a deal, with officials from the Argentine club now returning to South America.
Outlet TN claims that the club will now listen to other offers for the midfielder, and mentions that Leicester City have recently been linked to him, although no official bids have been made by the Foxes.
Nahitan Nandez is Uruguayan, and as Boca already have enough foreigners in the squad, they must sell one of them. As they thought the player was already on his way to Bologna, he’s still first in line.
Outlet El Dia Online writes that Nandez waits for more offers from abroad, and also mentions Leicester City’s interest. Meanwhile, Balon Latino writes that the Foxes, Atletico Madrid and Roma are all keen on the player.
It’s worth recalling that on Wednesday, newspaper El Dia has claimed that Leicester City’s name was just being used to put pressure on Bologna. With the Foxes having a clear path to sign the midfielder now, we shall see if the interest was real or made up.
