With Juan Bernat out for the foreseeable future due to a cruciate ligament rupture, the left-back position was there for Layvin Kurzawa’s taking.

He’s played in most games, but he missed the recent fixture against Bordeaux because of ‘pains’, and it appears the defender will sit out the game against Manchester United on Wednesday as well.

That’s according to L’Equipe, who report that Abdou Diallo is the likely chosen one to fill in the left-back role at Old Trafford, which could be a great sign for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men.

While the centre-back has played there in the past, he’s far from a natural in the position, meaning he could be there for the taking.

That’s described as the ‘main surprise’ by the newspaper, who also believe the central pairing will be comprised of Marquinhos and Presnel Kimpembe.

The rest of the team should line up in a 4-3-3 formation, with Moise Kean selected to accompany the star duo of Neymar and Kylian Mbappé, meaning former United winger Angel Di Maria would find himself on the bench.

As for the midfield, the set up is still unknown, although Danilo Pereira should find himself as the defensive option of the three.
