Leeds United, West Ham United and Southampton have joined Bundesliga sides in chasing Red Bull Salzburg’s Junior Adamu.
The forward returned to Salzburg from Liefering in 2020 but had to wait until the 2021/22 season to have prominence with the Austrian champions. He managed nine goals and five assists from 43 matches in all competitions.
Jesse Marsch’s side have agreed a deal with Salzburg for Brenden Aaronson and are close to taking his teammate, Rasmus Kristensen. Adamu now becomes the third player from the same club being targeted by the Whites.
Leeds are joined by West Ham, Southampton, Hertha Berlin, Eintracht Frankfurt and RB Leipzig in the race for the 21-year-old. That’s according to Sky Deutschland, who explain the three German clubs have the Austria international on their target lists.
That’s about the only information Sky mention about the Premier League trio. Adamu has a contract until 2025 and can leave his current club for €10m this summer.
It remains to be seen if one of Leeds, West Ham or Southampton will be able to beat the German clubs to the transfer.
