Leeds United and Rangers are chasing Standard Liège’s Moussa Djenepo for the summer window.
That’s according to Africa Foot, who mention Rangers in a report that mainly focuses on Leeds interest in Djenepo.
Last summer, the Belgian club allowed the 26-year-old to join Antalyaspor on loan with an option to buy.
The Mali international played 1,320 minutes from 26 games for the Turkish club, scoring two goals and registering an assist in the process.
Despite Antalyaspor having a purchase clause, the report states the winger doesn’t want to continue in Turkey due to unpaid wages. This allows Leeds, Rangers or any other club to sign the former Southampton man in the upcoming window.
The Whites have returned to the Premier League, a competition that Djenepo has already played in with the Saints. Leeds United are said to be willing to pay the €2m release clause to bring him back to England.
Africa Foot don’t make it clear if the €2m clause is included in his contract with Standard Liège, which expires in 2026. Daniel Farke’s side have already made an approach and are willing to pay €2m for him.
Leeds aren’t alone as Rangers and Maccabi Tel Aviv have also made approaches for the player. That’s all the report has to say about the Scottish club.
