As it stands, Hadi Sacko has played his last game for Leeds United. The winger joined from Sporting at the beginning of the season and his move worked out quite well, but the loan switch has ended with the close of the current campaign.

Turning 23 years of age in March, the youngster managed to settle in to the Championship quickly and became a much used component of Garry Monk’s squad. Leeds United have got an option to make the deal permanent, report Portuguese newspaper Record, but they are ‘unlikely’ to trigger it.

Sacko has ‘other proposals’ on the table, according to Record, so wont be without a club. The French footballer’s future at Sporting remains ‘undefined’ but a reasonable offer on a Screen Shot 2017-05-09 at 10.23.25permanent deal would likely see a sale.

Leeds United may well choose to speak to Sporting about a potential transfer and go in with a lower offer than the Portuguese club had hoped for.

Alternatively, given Sacko has a Sporting contract until June 2020, a further loan season with Leeds United can’t be ruled out.

Right now, Sacko is obliged to return to Sporting, and the ball is in Leeds United’s court over what to do next.
