Parma’s Zion Suzuki has had an impressive World Cup so far and Leeds United have hope of signing him.

The keeper has played all three games for Japan, who play a huge knockout tie against Brazil on Monday. Suzuki will be key, having helped Parma avoid relegation once again during the 2025/26 campaign.

Sport Witness have previously covered how English interest has long been around the player. He’s rejected advances in the past, however that could be changing as Leeds United have been encouraged to make a move.

Player wants PL move

TuttoSport explain how Suzuki has grown for club and country in recent years. They believe his performances have made the entire nation of Japan dream, as he made vital saves against the Netherlands and Sweden.

Now, Suzuki wants to use the World Cup as a way to move to the Premier League. That has been a dream for him, with Leeds United and Aston Villa interested.

He is unlikely to reject those moves, with Parma already receiving offers. The Italian club want at least €30m, having paid only €8m to sign him in 2024. This will go down as a capital gain, with Parma having done the same for Giovanni Leoni last year.

As a result, club CEO Federico Cherubini is likely to listen to offers.

The newspaper reveal Suzuki has previously rejected a move to Manchester United. If a club in England hands him a first-choice role, he won’t turn the chance down.

Price could still rise

Japan face Brazil on Monday evening, and is Suzuki impresses then will the 23-year-old’s value will rise further.

The Italian club would want to create an auction for a summer transfer. They did the same for Leoni in 2025, which saw Inter Milan miss out to Liverpool.

Reports from Italy last week stated Leeds United are in ongoing negotiations for the transfer.
