Leeds United have their eyes set on Galatasaray’s Gabriel Sara, having been linked with him during the summer.
That’s according to Takvim, and they cover Leeds United’s plans to try and sign him in the winer market.
The 26-year-old has been attracting interest from unnamed Russian clubs. The report says Leeds United have now returned to the chase for Sara, in what is seen as a surprise development.
It’s claimed Daniel Farke’s side will make a move for the Brazilian in January. The midfielder’s contract lasts until 2029 and Takvim say Galatasaray’s board will consider offers around €20m.
Sara moved to Europe for the first time when Norwich City signed him from São Paulo in July 2022. Two years later, he left the Championship side and made a switch to Istanbul.
He played close to 3,500 minutes from 45 matches last season and has been a regular this season. Takvim report the South American is also open to changing clubs in the next window.
To sum it up, Galatasaray and Sara are both open to a move.
It’s now down to Leeds United to find an agreement with both parties. There’s no clarity whether the Whites are willing to pay €20m for the midfielder.
