ADO Den Haag defender Tom Beugelsdijk has told the Dutch media he’s going through the worst period of his football career. The Dutchman was linked with a move to Leeds United in the summer after impressing Garry Monk.

Speaking to Voetbal International, Beugelsdijk was asked about Ado Den Haag’s current form, which has seen the Dutch side drop down to 15th in the Eredivisie. The defender said it’s now important to start picking up points because of the effect on the fans. Beugelsdijk thinks the situation is bad and that he isn’t in a good place at the moment.

“It is very important for us to get points and stay in it. Does it hurt people? If it does it’s horrible. It’s the worst period of my football career,” said the Dutch defender.

During the last window we reported Leeds United were looking to move in on Beugelsdijk before the deadline. Leeds United manager Monk had sent scouts to get the lowdown on the player and was impressed by his physical presence.

ADO Den Hagg’s coach Zeljko Petrovic also confirmed Leeds United’s interest in the defender, but was keen to keep hold of him.

This is the isn’t the first time Beugelsdijk has commented on the problems at ADO Den Haag after recently saying he was unhappy about the internal conflict among the club’s leaders.

With the instability at ADO Den Haag and the prospect of relegation, this could put a question mark over Beugelsdijk future at the club.
