Leeds United forward Chris Wood has been named the 5th best player from the EFL this season. The New Zealander has been in impressive goalscoring form this campaign, and currently tops the leading scorers chart.
FourFourTwo have released their top 50 EFL players of the season, and Wood has made the top five. The Leeds United star started the season being jeered by his own fans, but has managed to win back their support thorough his performances and goals.
The forward has been key in Leeds United’s push for promotion to the Premier League, and will be vital in the run-in. Leeds United look a good bet to land a play-off place, but their automatic promotion hopes were dented after the defeat to Reading on Saturday.
Wood is currently out on his own as the Championship top scorer with 24 goals, helped by his brace against Brighton at the end of last month. His closest challenger is Newcastle United’s Dwight Gayle, who is three behind the Leeds United player.
