Leeds United forward Pierre-Michel Lasogga has been named in the EFL Team of the Week for last weekend’s round of matches.
The 25 year old only joined Leeds United towards the end of the summer transfer window, but he’s made an instant impact since his arrival at Elland Road.
Lasogga made his debut for Leeds United in their 5-0 victory over Burton on Saturday. The German was on hand to open the scoring for his new club, and then added another later in the game. The player was eventually substituted in the 62nd minute, and received a standing ovation from the Leeds United supporters.
Leeds United’s win at the weekend lifted the club into second place in the Championship table, and they’re now just two points behind leaders Cardiff City. There were concerns after Chris Wood joined Burnley last month, but Lasogga could be the player to replace the goals the New Zealander scored last season.
Lasogga has also been praised in the German media, and his debut has been described as a dream.
