Passing through both Porto’s and Boavista’s youth ranks, Samu has spent his entire career in Portugal, currently at Vizela, but that could change if Southampton or Leeds United have their way.

The key to all this is his contract, which is expiring at the end of the campaign, and that’s why Southampton and Leeds are interested.
With four goals and two assists in 31 appearances this season, his statistics aren’t the most impressive, but the Championship duo aren’t all that bothered about it.
The midfielder is ‘being followed’ by both Leeds and Southampton, and they were pleased about his ‘fitness records’, because he averages around 12-13km per game.
This means Southampton and Leeds might have to wait a little bit longer before having talks with him, but they have their own future to worry about for the time being, as they are currently in a fight to return to the Premier League, with that likely key in him wanting to make the move.
