West Bromwich Albion have turned their attention to Leeds United defender Charlie Taylor after having a bid turned down by Leicester City for utility man Jeffrey Schlupp. WBA manager Tony Pulis is keen to bring in a left back this summer, and Taylor is an option open to the Premier League side.
The Birmingham Mail have claimed WBA could look to test the resolve of Leeds United owner Massimo Cellino, by tabling a £5m offer for Taylor. Pulis has never been a big fan of Sebastien Pocognoli, and reluctantly had to use the defender last season because of injuries.
WBA were keen to bring in Schlupp by offering £9m, but the player is still very much in the plans of Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri.
Schlupp played his part in Leicester City winning the Premier League last season, and with N’Golo Kante recently joining Chelsea, Ranieri won’t want to lose another key member of his squad.
Leeds United fans will be hoping Taylor remains with the club given Sam Byram only left for West Ham United six months ago.
