On Wednesday, there were suggestions from RTV Rijnmond that Leeds United are stepping away from Feyenoord’s Igor Paixão as the Dutch club seek a record fee for the player.
Now, AS Roma are interested in the winger and their move could be linked to the situation of Wolves’ Fabio Silva.
Gianluca di Marzio reports the Italian side see the Brazilian and Portuguese players as targets.
Contact has been made with Wolves for Silva but Paixão also remains a target. The journalist notes that Leeds United are ‘pushing hard’ to sign the Feyenoord star, with the report saying he’s valued at around €30m, but Dutch claims this week have been making it clear Feyenoord want more.
Corriere dello Sport also speak of the Giallorossi’s interest in the two players, but have it all at an initial stage.
Meanwhile, as far as the Dutch media are concerned there’s not a lot happening with Paixão. Feyenoord wanting a record fee, more than the €35m they received for Santiago Gimenez, has slowed things down for interest from Leeds United or elsewhere.
Indeed, at the beginning of June, when Leeds United and Brighton interest was reported, it was stated the Eredivisie club wanted €40m.
