When Leeds United achieved promotion to the Premier League, it was crazy to see the amount of transfer rumours the club became involved in.

There was special attention from the Argentine media, who believed that manager Marcelo Bielsa would like to bring a list of compatriots to play for him.

But these stories seem to be disappearing over time, and proof of that is an article which El Intransigente brings today.

They talk about the situation of River Plate defender Lucas Martinez Quarta, who was expected to leave the Buenos Aires club this summer.

They first cover interest from Real Betis, who after having a bid for the defender rejected are moving for other targets.

Then when mentioning the pursuit from Leeds United, they write that a lot has been talking about the Whites’ chase, but the rumour ‘seems to be losing strength’.

The English side aren’t even taken into consideration anymore, and that’s interesting to see, because it’s been a week since this rumour went quiet.

So either Leeds are working silently on their signings, or this story has really come to an end pretty quickly.
