Earlier on Tuesday, Sky Deutschland brought news about Bundesliga interest in Leeds United midfielder Ilia Gruev.
It was said Borussia Dortmund are among the German clubs who’ve been keeping an eye on the 24-year-old, who just had a positive season for the Whites in the Championship.
This story now gets an update, with Sky journalist Patrick Berger bringing his own information on the case.
He backs up the information that Gruev is being watched by ‘several clubs’, including Borussia Dortmund, and claims that Leeds have actually been resisting his sale.
It’s said that the Whites turned down an offer from a Premier League club just before their playoff match against Southampton.
For now, there are no details on who placed that bid to sign Gruev, or even how much was put on the table.
Either way, it seems Leeds United didn’t want to do business at such an important time of the season. Berger claims that a transfer is now ‘possible’, although that will obviously depend on the offers that arrive for the Elland Road side.
