Leeds United are ‘on pole’ to sign Michael Folorunsho.

The 21 year old currently plays for Virtus Francavilla in Serie C, so is something of an unknown.

He’s a midfielder and moved to Virtus, a club in the Apulia region of southern Italy, in 2017 from the Lazio youth system. He’d been with the Roman side since 2014.

Tutto Calcio Puglia report the youngster is moving ‘towards a farewell’ at the Italian club, and it’s Matrcelo Bielsa’s side believed to be at the front of the queue.

Bari had been interested in signing Folorunsho, but they’ve only got to the stage of exchanging information with Virtus, with it being stated the footballer seems ‘destined for other shores’.

Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani gets a direct mention, with it being claimed the Italian has put the midfielder at the top of his priority list.

That would suggest it’s Radrizzani’s Italy contacts driving this, rather than a recommendation from Victor Orta.
