Jaka Bijol and Gabriel Gudmundsson were among the players to arrive at Leeds United in the summer window. The central defender is yet to make an appearance in the league, while the 26-year-old left-back has started in all three league games for the Whites.
Bijol will be hoping to get minutes when Slovenia face Sweden in a World Cup qualifier later today. This fixture could also see him come up against Gudmundsson.
On Thursday, the 26-year-old centre-back said he’s found out from his Leeds teammate that Sweden are well prepared and confident, and therefore, expects it to be an exciting clash.
Gudmundsson has been speaking to the Swedish media about possibly facing the former Udinese man and has sent a message to Bijol, with Fotboll Direkt relaying his comments.
Last weekend, he picked up an injury against, but the fullback has already insisted he’s fit to face Slovenia. Gudmundsson is hoping for a win over Slovenia so that he has the bragging rights over Bijol when the pair return to Thorp Arch after the international break.
“It’s really important that we (Sweden) win that match, so that I can tease him a bit when I come back. Of course, we’ve been talking and joking about it, so it’s important that we get the win,” he said.
No kicking each other, lads.
