Many clubs around Europe have already started their preseason training, and many more are returning to the daily grind on Monday July 8th.
That’s a great way to focus minds on transfer business and the need to get players in. The aim is always to allow a manager to work with his new signings during season preparation, although it rarely works out perfectly.
Real Betis return on Monday, and Diario de Sevilla reports they want Leeds United Diego Llorente secured, in Spain, and ready to train from that day.
That will take quite some work and it’ll need to be quick. Leeds United have already rejected a €4.5m offer and they want to push things as high as possible.
Betis, obviously, want a bargain, but that doesn’t really fit with their desire to get the deal done by the 8th.
Negotiations continue, and it’s quite possible Betis will up that offer, with there being no insistence in the Spanish media that they’re sticking to their €4.5m guns.
