Junior Firpo’s contract with Leeds United expires at the end of June and for months the Spanish media have been talking about a potential return to Real Betis.

Like most players who move there, Junior Firpo enjoyed his time with Real Betis and opportunity to live in the Seville climate and region.

Betis have been presented as keen, although cost was always seen as an issue even if the 28-year-old would arrive as a free agent. The Spanish club aren’t in amazing financial shape and can’t compete with many on wages.

That’s especially true now Leeds United have been promoted back to the Premier League and the possibility of a new contract has arisen.

Junior Firpo himself is keeping calm and has had a quick-fire interview with Marca. He was asked a series of question, such as who is the most difficult opponent he’s faced, which was Lionel Messi, and which player he’d choose to sign for Leeds United if he could have any.

To that he replied Neymar, currently at Santos.

The 33-year-old recently left the pitch in tears having picked up an injury half an hour into his league debut on his Santos return.
