Leeds United summer signing Pawel Cibicki has been praised in the Swedish media for the second week running, following his performance against Norwich City at the weekend.
Fotboll Dirket say the forward yesterday played a ‘key role’ in the Championship side’s 1-0 victory on Saturday, but in recent days there have been claims Danish side Brondby are interested in signing him.
Cibicki made his full Leeds United league debut in the game against Norwich City, and his first outing in the Championship at Elland Road. The former Malmo player provided an assist for his compatriot Pontus Jansson for the only goal of the game, and it seems the Swede is taking full advantage of recent injuries in Thomas Christiansen’s squad.
The attacker’s performance against Norwich City comes after speculation his agent has recently been in talks with Brondby to discuss a move for his client.
We covered reports earlier this week from the Danish press that Cibicki’s agent held a meeting in Copenhagen with Brondby’s sporting director, but the Leeds United player’s move to Denmark isn’t expected.
With the injuries to Pierre-Michel Lasogga and Caleb Ekuban it’s very unlikely Christiansen would sanction a move, especially given Cibicki’s form in the last two games. The Swedish media are clearly happy with this and, given how much they love the Leeds reaction to Pontus Jansson, would quite like another Elland Road hero.
