Leeds United loanee Giuseppe Bellusci is now avoiding controversy after his comments about his time at the English club.

Speaking at a press conference, the defender said: “In England it was a difficult period. The stadium is historic and the fans are incredible, but they magnify things.

“We paid for the fact that we were strangers, I would not say it, but that’s what transpires: I do not dispute it, but when there was trouble the Italians were blamed.”

CapturarBut Bellusci is happy now. After scoring a goal against Crotone on Monday, and is currently the standout player at the Serie A side moment.

Despite his recent comments the 27 year old is keen to put an end to the subject surrounding his time at Leeds United.

“I don’t want to create controversies, but I had the feeling that when things were not going well, it was always the Italian’s fault. Here at Empoli I found a smile instead.”

Bellusci joined Empoli on a loan until the end of the season, and the Italian club have an option to buy him outright. His agent also claimed today the player is pretty happy in Italy, so it seems very likely he won’t be returning to Leeds after these latest statements.
