Last week saw claims from Germany state that Leeds United are in the running for Bayern Munich goalkeeper Alexander Nübel. It was also reported the Whites would have to battle it out with VfB Stuttgart for his signature.

The English club have shown interest in buying the 26-year-old while Stuttgart are looking for a loan deal.

Kicker now state Saturday negotiations between the two German clubs didn’t yield any result, allowing Leeds to make an effort to lure the stopper.

It’s claimed Daniel Farke’s side tried to take Nübel on a permanent transfer and made an offer in excess of €10m plus bonuses.

The Bundesliga winners would have been in favour of accepting Leeds’ proposal since they are keen to get rid of the goalkeeper.

However, the player’s ‘negative attitude’ towards Leeds, who will play in the Championship next season, hasn’t helped them in this deal.

Kicker say there was a new round of talks between Thomas Tuchel’s side and Stuttgart on Sunday and an agreement was reached between the two clubs.

Stuttgart will pay €800,000 to Bayern to take Nübel on loan without a purchase option.
