Leeds United new signing Pontus Jansson has revealed he was left disappointed by the treatment he received from parent club Torino. The Sweden international has joined Leeds United on loan with a right of redemption.
Speaking to Sydsvenskan, Jansson was asked why he left Torino to join Leeds United this week. The central defender revealed that he was promised more games with the Serie A side, but believes the coaching staff weren’t convinced about him.
Jansson went on to say he was grateful for the two years he had in Turin, but in the end he just wanted to leave the club.
“Previously, it was stated that I would be a starting player, but suddenly it never happened, and I do not know why. Maybe they were concerned about my knee, or if the coach had a different picture of me. I still like the club and I’m grateful for the two years that I had there, but the disappointment meant I just wanted to get away,” said the Leeds United defender.
Jansson became Leeds United’s 10th signing this summer when he agreed to join the club yesterday. The Swede could make his debut this weekend when Leeds United take on Sheffield Wednesday.
