Leeds United’s latest signing Pontus Jansson has told the Swedish media joining the Championship side felt the right thing to do. Jansson yesterday joined Leeds United on loan from Serie A side Torino.
In an interview with Sydsvenskan, Jansson was asked the reasons why he took the decision to sign for Leeds United despite the interest from other clubs. The Sweden international said he’s an emotional man, and felt the move to Leeds United was the right thing to do.
Jansson revealed once he met up with the Leeds United coach staff he knew this was the club for him
“Above all Leeds felt good right away. I’m an emotional man, and I can go on. But it has felt right ever since I met the coach and sporting director,” said the Swede.
Jansson signed for Torino two seasons, but failed to hold down a regular place in the starting eleven despite being part of Sweden’s squad for this summer’s Euros.
With the change of management at the Italian club this summer, Jansson became surplus to requirements, and subsequently joined Leeds United on loan with a right of redemption.
