Udinese’s Rodrigo De Paul has been on the radar of Leeds United for some weeks.

On September 17th, Messaggero Veneto reported the ‘negotiation remains hot’ with the Whites.

The local newspaper also explained the Serie A side want ‘at least’ €35m for the forward, and Leeds remain ahead of other clubs in the chase.

According to Calciomercato.it, the 26-year-old is ‘more than ever’ keen for a new challenge.

It’s claimed the newly promoted Premier League club’s discussions with the Italian side were moving in the right direction and it seemed ‘to be heading towards a positive conclusion.’

However, a ‘few hiccups have arisen’ in the negotiations between the two clubs.

Udinese value their star around €30-35m, and the report states Marcelo Bielsa’s side haven’t offered the fee requested by De Paul’s employer. Therefore, ‘negotiations are on standby’.

Zenit Saint Petersburg are also looking at the South American, and the slowdown of negotiations with Leeds has opened the door for the Russian side to reconnect with De Paul’s entourage.
