When Nahitan Nandez’s proposed move to Inter Milan hit a brick wall, it was perhaps only a matter of time before Leeds United were pulled back into the picture.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side were heavily linked with the Uruguayan earlier in the current window, and it was reported that a deal, initially on a loan basis, could be done for around €30m.
Inter Milan then moved into the story and Leeds were dropped out. Nandez was thought to be very keen on joining the Italian champions, and hasn’t been training with Cagliari, even failing to turn up for a preseason trip to Spain.
TMW now say Leeds United have returned to the chase and are moving ‘strongly’ for Nandez. They report the Whites have made contact with both Cagliari and the player’s entourage.
Tottenham were also dragged into the picture on Saturday, and there’s a chance Premier League clubs are being linked to try and put some pressure on Inter Milan.
The situation should become clearer in the coming days.
