Leeds United are among the clubs chasing AZ Alkmaar’s Jens Odgaard on deadline day.
The Dutch club invested €4m to sign the forward from Sassuolo in 2022 and he finished his debut season with 12 goals and six assists from 45 games. This has seen him draw attention from the Whites, Werder Bremen and Bologna.
That’s according to BT in Denmark, who state Leeds and Werder Bremen are ‘lurking’ in the background to secure the 24-year-old’s services.
In addition to these two clubs, Bologna are are also in the picture and the report states they have started negotiations with AZ for Odgaard.
BT say the Dane may be set for a move, a year after he joined the Eredivisie side, and with Bologna negotiating with AZ, they seem to be ahead of Leeds and Werder Bremen in the transfer race.
Gianluca Di Marzio also claims the Serie A side are in talks with AZ for Odgaard, who can operate on the right wing and as a centre forward. He makes no mention of Leeds or Werder Bremen in the report.
If the Championship side hope to sign the attacker, they have to find a way to get ahead of Bologna and then find an agreement with both AZ and Odgaard.
