Olympiacos’ Yusuf Yazıcı has landed on Leeds United’s transfer agenda for this summer.
The attacking midfielder spent five years at Lille before leaving them as a free agent at the end of 2023/24 season. He waited until September to join the Greek club and signed a contract until 2027.
Yazıcı had to wait until October to make his debut for Olympiacos against Asteras Aktor and suffered a serious knee injury in the same tie. That has been his only appearance for the Greek champions and he spent close to eight months on the sidelines.
He quickly regained full fitness, and the long-term absence apparently hasn’t put off Leeds as RMC Sport now state the Whites and a French club are both interested in the 28-year-old.
The report hasn’t mentioned the name of the French club, but they add he could return to Ligue 1 in this window. In other words, they unnamed side could provide competition to Leeds United for the Turkey international’s signature.
Transfermarkt currently values Yazıcı at €5m. He managed 29 goals and 15 assists from 135 games for Lille between 2019 and 2024.
