The Italian sport media can’t seem to make their collective mind up about Leeds United and Erick Pulgar. Marcelo Bielsa’s side have been linked with the midfielder for months, with there even being claims of an offer as the winter market opened.

Stories carried on each day in the media closest to Fiorentina, and then a few days ago it was suggested Leeds would now stall things and wait until the summer. The same was said of the Whites’ interest in Udinese’s Rodrigo De Paul, with the Argentine looking an increasingly difficult option to sign given the high profile interest in him.

This weekend, Corriere Fiorentino bring Leeds interest in Pulgar back, and once again say it’s interest which goes back some months.

Now they state that Pulgar leaving Tuscany during the January transfer window, to Elland Road or anywhere else, could be dependent on Fiorentina bringing in a replacement.

That’s been mentioned before, yet it was thought the Serie A side could sell Pulgar and then move for a replacement.

With the window growing older, it would appear their stance is changing.

Cagliari are also said to be keen on Pulgar.
