Leeds United are chasing Major League Soccer’s José Cifuentes in the summer window, according to reports.
The 23-year-old left Ecuadorian side América de Quito for Los Angeles FC in January 2020 and is currently plying his trade with them.
Operating mainly in the middle of the pitch and at times as an attacking midfielder, he has managed 12 goals and 14 assists since he joined the MLS side. His displays have not gone unnoticed in Europe and especially at Leeds.
Ecuadorian journalist Andrés Ponce told Radio Diblu FM ‘Europe is chasing’ the 23-year-old as there are teams ‘interested’ in the player. The Whites and Brighton & Hove Albion are the only two teams tagged.
It’s not the first time Jesse Marsch’s side have been credited with interest in Cifuentes.

Earlier this month, Jeunes Footeux stated Leeds and Leicester City are in the mix to sign him. It was also explained the Premier League duo will face big competition from a ‘dozen European clubs’ to sign the South American this summer.
Cifuentes’ contract with Los Angeles FC runs until December 2023.
