Leeds United have ‘set their sights’ on Union Berlin defender Danilho Doekhi and only need a ‘suitable offer’ to get him this month.
That’s according to BILD and SportBILD. They cover the defender today and how a departure seems very likely at this point in the January transfer window.
The newspaper explains that Berlin risk losing two key central defenders in this month as Doekhi and Diogo Leite both have contracts expiring in the summer.
Both have wanted to leave for a while.
Leite has been linked with Fenerbahce while Doekhi will also be allowed to leave if a suitable offer comes in. Leeds United have recently ‘set their sights’ on him. A suitable offer for the defender would be anything around €13m, his current market valuation.
Leeds United can pay now or wait until summer

Whether Leeds United are willing to pay that much remains to be seen. They could get him on a free in the summer, afterall.
They’re not short of central defenders, with four in the current squad all competing to get in at this moment in time. Sebastiaan Bornauw has been eyeing a potential exit, though, and perhaps Doekhi could be a replacement for him.
That’s for Daniel Farke and co to decide. The deal is certainly there to be done should they want it.
