FC Twente have confirmed via their website the signing of Borussia Dortmund midfielder Alexander Laukart. The 18-year-old is expected to go into the Twente first team, which could put question marks over the future of Leeds United target Mateusz Klich.

In the past couple of days Laukart signed a three year contract with the Dutch side, following some impressive performances for Borussia Dortmund’s u18s in the UEFA Champions League.

The versatile midfielder will be expected to get more chances in the Netherlands, and with Twente recently signing Danny Holla, the Dutch side may have a new look midfield for next season.

Last week Klich was linked with a move to Leeds United, with some reports the Championship side have made an offer for the player.

Leeds United’s interest in Klich first appeared in the Netherlands, and by the time this filtered through to Poland there were reports of an approach for the player, and even an offer.

His agency tried to play down claims their client will be leaving Twente for Leeds United this summer, but given the club’s recent signings their comments could be doubted.
