Lucas Perri hasn’t had a great time at Leeds United and could be in line for an exit.
The Whites spent £15.6m to sign the keeper from Lyon last summer, with Perri getting a four-year deal.
There was excitement about the signing early on. He started the first three Premier League games and even after an arm injury, Daniel Farke showed an inclination towards using him regularly.
Back in November, Sport Witness covered comments from Perri’s agent and he appeared quite happy with his client’s progress at Leeds United.
That soon changed, as the Brazilian played only three league games in 2026. As he deals with becoming a back-up, a move to Italy could be on the cards.
Torino interested
Gianluca Di Marzio reports on Torino’s hunt for a new keeper. They have been pursuing a move for Paraguay’s World Cup hero Orlando Gill but haven’t reached an agreement with San Lorenzo yet.
This came after Sky Italia reported an initial offer had been rejected. The South American side have raised their valuation after the goalkeeper’s World Cup campaign.
Now, Il Toro have alternatives in mind and Di Marzio’s report brings in Leeds United’s Lucas Perri.
Gill remains a target but sporting director sees the Whites’ keeper as an alternative. He is on their shortlist and so is Aaron Ramsdale, who spent last season on loan at Newcastle United from Southampton.
Move could be risky
Joining Torino would be a risky decision from Perri. They are a chaotic club run by the controversial Urbano Cairo, who is frequently protested against by fans for rarely showing ambition.
For Leeds United, it’s unlikely they’d be offered a good deal. Cairo won’t invest in that, and the likeliest offer would be a loan with an option to buy.
Should Leeds won’t rid of Perri then there’d almost certainly be better clubs to deal with.
