Rafa Mujica, who failed to succeed at Leeds United and has had an unusual career since, is on his way to Qatar, according to claims today.
EFE, relayed by MSN, writes that the 25-year-old is leaving Portuguese side Arouca to sign for Al-Sadd.
It’s said that the former Leeds player has already travelled to Doha, where he’ll have his medical and sign a contract with his new club.
Mujica joined Leeds’ academy back in 2019, when signed from Barcelona. Despite the years he spent at the English club, he never managed to make his debut for them.
The Whites had him loaned to Extremadura, Villarreal, Real Oviedo and Las Palmas, until making his departure permanent in 2021.
In 2022, he joined Portuguese side Arouca, where he’s actually just had a very good season with 23 goals so far. It’s likely been the best season of his career and he’s now off to earn some good money in Qatar.
