Leeds United and Elche have found an agreement for the transfer of Kiko Casilla, according to reports from Spain.

Outlet Super Deporte claims that the goalkeeper will move to the La Liga side on a one-year loan spell.

The website makes it clear the deal is done, and the 34-year-old is expected to join Elche’s squad this week, as soon as he goes through his medical.

The report doesn’t make it clear if the Spanish side will have a buying option over the player, or if they’re paying any kind of fee for the loan, although we should see more details coming from the local press in the coming days.

Casilla joined Leeds United on a free move from Real Madrid in January 2019. Despite quickly taking a place in the team, he ended up losing his spot last summer to Illan Meslier, who was a starter for most of the past season.

The Spaniard’s contract with the Whites still runs until 2023.
