According to a claim in the Italian media, Torino have joined the race to sign Hull City forward Abel Hernandez.
The Uruguay international looks set to leave Hull City when his contract expires next month, and the player has also been linked with a move to Leeds United this week.
La Stampa have today reported Hernandez is on Torino’s shortlist as they look to bring in a forward this summer. For weeks Hernandez has been linked with a move back to Serie A following his spell with Palermo before his move to England, along with claims of interest from several clubs in England.
It’s said Hernandez isn’t the first choice for Torino but if they fail to land other targets then the South American is a possibility.
Yesterday Sky Sports reported Hernandez is a target for Leeds United, but they are likely to face competition from Aston Villa.
Leeds United are expected to complete the sign of Carpi forward Jerry Mbakogu in the next window, and Hernandez could be another option for the Elland Road club.
However, it’s worth noting the forward’s agent has a history of talking up moves for his clients and speaking to the media. This has been the case with Abel Hernandez for years, and also Gaston Ramirez, represented by the same agent.
