Leeds United have ‘closed the agreement’ to sign Diego Llorente from Real Sociedad, reports Marca journalist Yon Cuezva.
On Tuesday morning, Cuezva’s own sources backed up English claims of interest from Marcelo Bielsa’s side and it was stated negotiations with La Real were ongoing. Now, only a medical is in the way of the transfer being completed, and the fee is put at ‘close to €20m’.
Leipzig are prepared to agree a deal now, leave Gvardiol at Dinamo, and then take him next summer when it’s expected Dayot Upamecano will leave the German club.
Moving quickly on to the Spanish option, it looks like Leeds United have now got the extra defender they wanted.
Real Sociedad have been willing to listen to offers for Llorente because their manager, Imanol Alguacil, wants a left-footed centre back signed.
