Cellino Gazzetta dello Sport September 30thLeeds United owner Massimo Cellino has told the Italian media he’s not corrupt, following The Daily Telegraph’s claims earlier in the week.

Speaking to famous old Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, Cellino said he hasn’t committed any crime despite being filmed with a businessman offering advice on football matters.

The Leeds United chief is adamant he isn’t corrupt following these accusations, and was discussing legitimate business issues relating to football, none of which were against regulations or designed to get around the rules.

Gazzetta quote Cellino as saying ” I am not corrupt,” before he goes on to add “I have not committed crimes. I have not been corrupted. I have only mentioned a corporate strategy,” said the Leeds United owner.

The Daily Telegraph this week disclosed the Leeds United chief held a meeting with a businessman offering to sell 20% of the club.

However, it since transpired convicted match fixer Pino Pagliara set up Cellino’s meeting with the businessman, and Leeds United also released a statement yesterday stating Cellino was guilty of nothing.
