Leeds United have set their sights Maccabi Tel Aviv’s Issouf Sissokho for the winter market. That’s according to Africa Foot, who make it clear it’s their own information.
The midfielder joined Maccabi Tel Aviv in August 2024 and has played 55 matches so far, of which 12 are from this season. His performances haven’t gone unnoticed and interest is growing.
It’s claimed English scouts have taken notice, but Leeds United are the only club mentioned.
Africa Foot report the Whites have already begun discussions with the Malian’s entourage over a potential move in January. They state negotiations between the parties are progressing well and a verbal agreement could soon be reached.
The report adds the Premier League club are planning to send their ‘first official offer’ in the coming weeks.
There’s no mention or suggestion of the fee Leeds United are willing to offer or of the 23-year-old’s asking price.
The player’s contract expires in 2027, with an option for another year, and Transfermarkt currently values him at €1.2m. Daniel Farke’s side may have to pay more than that to secure Sissokho’s services in January.
