The agents representing Valencia youngster Jesús Vázquez were recently in England as they plan a possible move for the defender amid interest from Leeds United.

That’s according to Plaza Deportiva, who provide their slant on Vázquez today amid growing interest in his signature.

We’ve covered various reports today making it clear that Leeds are interested in Vázquez but will need to move quickly if they are to secure his signature ahead of growing competition.

Plaza Deportiva now explain that ‘something is moving’ around the defender, with scouts from all the top league in Europe coming to watch him.

A combination of Valencia’s debt, the player’s escape clause for the winter window, his change of agents and his profile have increased interest in him.

Furthermore, Gennaro Gattuso’s preference for other players is ‘pushing’ the player towards the exit and clubs like Leeds want to take advantage.

Vázquez had been with Bucero, an agency that collaborates with Jorge Mendes, but recently changed to be with Leaderbrock Sports and according to the newspaper’s information, these new agents ‘have recently been in England’ as they are ‘testing the market’ ahead of January.

They also made trips to Italy and the Netherlands to gauge interest in their new client, with clubs from both countries sending scouts to watch him regularly.

Indeed, PD believe that a call will be coming from Inter Milan sooner rather than later, perhaps even at some point today as their interest in the player is ‘firm’.

They’re eyeing a loan with an option to buy as they cannot afford to spend big, but Leeds are also ‘keeping an eye’ on the situation and could be ready to compete if that bid is made.

The clubs are moving as he has a clause in his current deal that forces Valencia to loan him out if he has not played a minimum number of minutes by January.

The player is ‘inclined’ to take up any exit offered to him, and the exit door is ‘opening’ for him, although any decision will be in the hands of those higher up at Valencia.
