Leeds United midfielder Marc Roca has admitted he doesn’t “rule out” the possibility of returning to Spain in future but is “very much enjoying” his time at Elland Road.
Roca joined Leeds in a €12m deal from Bayern Munich in the summer following two disappointing years for him with the German giants.
He had joined them as a highly-rated player following his time with Espanyol in Spain, where he had risen through their youth ranks since 2021 to become a key player in the first team from 2016 onwards.
He could not establish himself in the same manner at Bayern but has quickly found his feet at Leeds, becoming a key player under Jesse Marsch this season.
That is unlikely to have gone unnoticed in Spain, where they are always attentive to the performances of their nationals, particularly in the Premier League.
Spanish players often look to return to La Liga at some point in their careers also and Roca is not ruling that out, although he is currently not in any rush to leave Leeds.
“I had the option of Leeds (in the summer), which suited me perfectly, but I obviously don’t rule out going back to Spain in future,” Mundo Deportivo report him saying.
“I like the Spanish league, it is our country and where we felt most comfortable. But I am very much enjoying my time in England a lot.
“I think the level in the Premier League is growing and the competition is at the highest level to keep growing. As a professional right now, I am very happy.”
