Two days ago, El Partidazo de COPE reported Leeds United’s Rodrigo Moreno is ‘very close’ to joining Sevilla. It was also stated Victor Orta’s arrival in the Spanish club has worked as a ‘guarantee’ for the forward.
The La Liga side have appointed Orta as their new sporting director, after he left the Whites earlier this year. Vamos Mi Sevilla reported on Wednesday that Sevilla have offered a two-year deal to the 32-year-old while he asks for three.
ABC Sevilla contacted the Leeds player’s father, Adalberto Machado, who is also his agent, and asked about the recent reports linking his client to the Spanish club.
“We have nothing firm. I have known these days of interest, but not concrete,” he said.
The former Valencia man has a year left on his contract and there have been suggestions that he could leave Leeds on a free transfer, following their relegation from the Premier League. His agent has neither confirmed nor denied this claim.
“I have an appointment now with the people of the club [Leeds]. We are going to fix all those issues and we will know soon,” Machado explained.
The player’s agent has also left the door for Moreno to join the Europa League winners in the summer window.
“There is nothing fixed. But Sevilla, always. Sevilla will always be a team that will have our interest, obviously,” the representative concluded.
There may be developments on this case after Machado’s meeting with Leeds.
