On Thursday, Spanish journalist Samuel Silva stated Real Betis are ready to make an offer to buy Leeds United’s Diego Llorente. He also said AS Roma, where he spent the last 18 months on loan, are looking to sign him on another loan deal.
Earlier today, Estadio Deportivo reported Leeds would find it more attractive to sell the defender to the La Liga side than send him out on loan to Roma again.
Mucho Deporte now provides the 30-year-old’s preference between Real Betis and the Serie A side.
It’s claimed the Spaniard values Real Betis’ interest and if they were to make an offer to buy him, he ‘would opt’ to join them over Roma.
Llorente ‘wants stability’ and is looking for permanent transfer [with a three to four year contract], which is why he isn’t convinced to return to Roma on loan. The report claims it is the ‘necessary condition’ for the Spanish club to secure his services.
This suits Manuel Pellegrini’s side as earlier claims have stated they are ready to purchase the Leeds player this summer.
Real Betis’ contacts have been fluid with Leeds as they are also working to buy Marc Roca. They could make an offer to buy Llorente in the ‘next few days’, and Mucho Deporte claim the deal could be carried out for less than his current market value of €7m.
