Leeds United defender Robin Koch has been ‘in talks’ with Eintracht Frankfurt for several days’ about a potential return to the Bundesliga.
That’s according to Frankfurter Rundschau, who say the German’s future should be decided ‘in the next few days’.
The newspaper explains that Frankfurt director of football Markus Krösche is targeting the Leeds defender as he looks to make several additions to Dino Toppmöller’s squad.
He’s been in talks with the player for several days, with reports this week also indicating that contact between the two parties is continuous.
However, it is still unclear whether Koch, whose deal with Leeds runs until 2024, wants to stay in England or return to the Bundesliga.
What is clear is that he intends to leave Leeds and doesn’t want to join them in the Championship next season following relegation from the Premier League.
He ‘will not go down’ that road and ‘will leave’ Elland Road this summer but whether that’s to a team in the Premier League or the Bundesliga is yet to be decided.
That, though, will probably be decided ‘in the next few days’ as the exodus from Leeds looks set to get underway.
