Speaking to the Austrian media during the international break, Leeds United loanee Maximilian Wöber was quizzed about his club future.
The defender is currently loaned to Borussia Mönchengladbach, and seems to be quite happy to play in Germany.
In quotes brought by Laola1, Wöber started by claiming he made the right choice to join the Bundesliga side this summer.
“For me, it was a really great move. I’ve settled in really well, it’s a family club, a real traditional club with incredible fans,” said Wöber.
Then quizzed whether he’d stay at Mönchengladbach for longer, Wöber claims it’s not yet time to speak about that.
“I’m in Gladbach for the year now, I’m fully focused on it and I’m going to throw everything into it. I don’t really want to think about what it will look like in the summer yet.”
Despite the season in Germany, Wöber has a contract with Leeds running until 2027.
The defender was signed from RB Salzburg on a €12m in January. In a few months, he saw the Whites getting relegated, and was part of the long list of players who left Elland Road before the start of the Championship season.
Now we wait and see what Leeds will do with him next summer. A good reason why Wöber has to wait is that a lot should depend on whether the Whites will get the promotion to the Premier League in this campaign.
